At the end of the 19th Century, during the height of advertising poster popularity, the largest printer
Chaix devised an elite collecting society. They offered outstanding stone lithograph artwork of the
best advertising posters by the finest artists. Issued in a miniature version, they retained all the very
fine and specific details of the actual large posters. Every month starting in December 1895 until
November 1900, the fortunate subscribers of this society would receive four individual miniature
posters, plus periodically, an original lithograph made for these collectors only.
All Maitre de L'Affiche plates are printed on collector's edition stock,
they are not linen backed.
